In 1982, what began as an idea and a dream in the back room of a 65 year old retail drug store on Main Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas located next to the Christian Science Reading Room and the Square Deal Pawn Shop, is today a recognized “pioneer in home infusion therapy”.

Today I Care of Arkansas is nationally and internationally recognized for our innovative leadership in pioneering home infusion and regionally recognized for the experience and dedication of our clinical team in “caring for our patients like family” and providing the absolute highest quality of home infusion services anywhere in the world.

About Our Founder

Dr. Gene Graves founded I Care of Arkansas in 1982 and is recognized nationally and internationally as a “pioneer” of home infusion. He has served as President of the National Community Pharmacists Association, an organization that represents the nation’s retail pharmacists. He has also served as President of the National Home Infusion Association, which he co-founded. He is a past President of the Arkansas Pharmacists Association, President of the Arkansas Hospital Pharmacists Association and a recipient of the Arkansas Pharmacist of the Year Award, the AH Robins Bowl of Hygia and the Arkansas Pharmacists Community Service Award.

In 2005, the National Home Infusion Association recognized Dr. Graves for his pioneering efforts in home infusion and in co-founding NHIA by naming an annual award in his honor, the “Gene Graves Lifetime Achievement Award”.

I Care of Arkansas is a recipient of the “Arkansas Business of the Year”. Because of Graves’ reputation as a pioneer in home infusion, he has been a frequent speaker at state, national and international medical symposia.

Over the years, Dr. Graves turned to his second love, writing. He has published over one hundred articles in pharmacy, medical and health care related publications. Because I Care is Graves’ first book.

Gene Graves is a native Arkansan and lives in Little Rock, Arkansas.
